You cannot win the answers you cannot see

AI engines recommend products to shoppers every day and show brands none of it. Monitoring turns those answers into something you can measure: which products surface, which questions you are missing, and which sources decide the outcome.

What does AI search monitoring show you?

01
SHARE OF ANSWER

Your share of the answer

Visibility score, share of visibility against named competitors, and average mention position. You see how high your products land in the answer, and who gets named ahead of you.

Visibility down to the product

Every tracked product scored on its own and broken out by topic, so you can see which parts of your catalogue AI engines recommend and which ones they never reach for.

03
PROMPT COVERAGE

The exact questions shoppers ask

Prompt-level results across high-intent shopper questions, grouped by topic and attribute. Which prompts surface you, which surface nobody, and where a whole question type sits unclaimed.

CITATION SOURCES

The sources AI engines trust

Every recommendation traces back to citations: your own site, retailers, editorial publishers, community. Autonomy classifies every source and tracks how that mix shifts, so you can see which types of source are gaining influence in your category and which pages are feeding the answers you want to win.

05
MISSED OPPORTUNITIES

The answers you are absent from

The questions where none of your products surface at all, ranked by what each one is worth. This is the list implementation works from.

How it works

01

Build the prompt set

We map your catalogue to the questions shoppers actually ask, by topic, attribute and buying intent.

02

Track it every day

Prompts run against AI engines daily, scoring visibility, position and the sources behind every answer.

03

Report what moved

Weekly and monthly reporting with a written read on what changed, what caused it, and what to do next.

Questions about monitoring

How product visibility is tracked, why AI engines skip catalogues, and what to do about it.

Both, and the product level is the point. Every tracked product is scored on its own and broken out by topic, so you can see that one line gets recommended regularly while another is never reached for. Brand level visibility hides that. Two products in the same catalogue routinely sit a long way apart.
Branded questions name you. Unbranded questions describe a need and leave the engine to choose. Most brands score well on the first and close to nothing on the second, and that gap is the one worth money. It separates shoppers who already know you from the ones still deciding what to buy.
Being retrieved and being cited are two different things. AI engines routinely fetch a product page, read it, and then build the answer from another source, usually because the attribute a shopper asked about sits in marketing copy and never in a structured field. Monitoring shows you where that is happening. Your analytics cannot, because no click ever lands.
Engines cite the sources they trust for a category, and in commerce that is often a retailer listing or an editorial roundup ahead of the brand's own site. Autonomy classifies every citation as brand, retail, editorial or community, so you can see which domains feed the answers you want to win and how much each one influences. That classification also shows when the mix shifts.
Those tools measure what happens after a click. AI recommendations happen before one, and often in place of one. A shopper is handed a product name and a reason to buy it, and only some of them click through. Nothing in your existing stack records that an engine considered your product and passed over it.
